Frequently Asked Questions
Is there late pick-up fee?
Our salon is open from 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday-Friday. Unless you are informed that your dog will not be ready for pickup until after 5 PM, you are expected to pick up before closing. We will give a courtesy call 20-30 minutes prior to closing as a reminder that we will be closing. If you arrive after 5 PM to pick up, the $25 late pickup fee will incur.
Are vaccinations required?
At our salon, we require all of our clients to have up to date Rabies and Bordetella vaccinations. As we understand it is your choice whether or not you would like your dog to have these vaccinations, we do require them in order for them to be groomed here. Our local vet has recommended we require these vaccines to insure the safety of all our clients and our groomers.
Are there no call, no show or cancellation fees?
Our appointments are scheduled on the hour from 9 AM - 12 PM. We will give a courtesy call 15 minutes after the scheduled time to see if you will still be coming in. If you are still absent 30 minutes after the scheduled appointment time, this will forfeit your appointment and the no-show fee will incur.
If you need to cancel or reschedule your appointment, it must be done at least 24 hours before the appointment time or a $25 fee will incur.
Is my dog put in a crate/cage?
Yes, for your pet's safety and our own, all dogs are crated when not on the table or in the tub. If your dog doesn't do well in a kennel, please let us know before making the appointment so we can work together to ensure everyone's comfort and satisfaction.
How long should I wait to have my puppy groomed?
Once your puppy has two rounds of vaccines and is cleared by the vet for grooming (usually around 12-16 weeks), we can start working right away! It's a good idea to introduce puppies to grooming at a young age to get them used to the sounds and smells of the salon and encourage good grooming habits at home.
How is my dog dried?
Most of our dogs are hand dried with a variable speed, high velocity dryer. This allows us to get a better finished look and gives us a chance to get a good look at your dog’s skin to asses any potential health issues. If your dog does not tolerate this method, they will have to cage dry with room-temperature fans. We do NOT use heated cage dryers and all cages are open to allow air flow and prevent overheating.
Can I bring my own shampoo?
Absolutely, although our top-rated product line is designed to promote a healthy coat and skin. If your veterinarian has prescribed or suggested an alternate shampoo, we will gladly use it.
How often should my pet be groomed?
This varies based on type of coat, length of cut, and the pet's lifestyle. On average, every 4-8 weeks is recommended, with regular nail trims and combing in between appointments.
Do I get the same groomer each time?
We try to book dogs with the same groomer to build a relationship between the two, making your dog more comfortable and used to the routine. Based on availability, having the same groomer isn't guaranteed unless you request them specifically.
Can I stay and watch?
Our grooming room is visible from the lobby and we encourage customers take a tour of our clean facilities. However, if your dog can see you, this usually leads to the dog trying to be with you and generally causes them to be anxious and fidgety. Our groomers work with sharp tools and want to prioritize your pet's safety by avoiding additional stress and excitement. If you need to watch the entire time, you should talk with the groomer before your appointment.
